2010 Green Divisional Championship - Saturday, July 31st
The Piedmont Tsunamis final meet of the season will take place on Saturday, July 31st as Piedmont hosts the Green Divisional Championship against the Old Bridge Breakers and the Meadowbrook Makos. We will begin setting up for the meet on Friday evening after the Rockin' Color War Pasta Party. Please plan to help clean-up/set-up after the party if you are available.Swimmers:
All swimmers should plan to arrive at the Simpson Pool at 5:45 a.m. for warmups for this tri-meet. Upon arrival, please check in with Coach Anna. The meet will officially begin at 7:00 a.m.
Volunteers:
Parents, please check in with Susan Schwartz even if you are not scheduled to volunteer to make sure that we have enough volunteers in all areas. Given the combined size of our teams, we will need everyone's help to ensure a smooth meet.
Divisional T-shirts for Sale:
Divisional T-shirts will be available for purchase at our Friday morning practice and the Rockin' Color War Pasta Party. Kat Babic has designed a very cool green tie-dye T-shirt (see 2010 design) commemorating this year's divisional meet! You won't want to miss it! Quantities are limited.
Team Area:
Given the large number of swimmers, we have received permission to utilize the grassy areas behind the pool as team areas. Please view our Divisional Meet Setup Map for details. We are encouraging team families to setup tents in the grassy area as per the map. Also, parking will be tight so if you live close to the Simpson Pool, you may want to plan to walk or bike to the pool.

Important Reminders:
- Swimmer Tie Dye T-shirts
We thought it would be fun for the swimmers to make shirts with the coaches to wear at the divisional meet. We will be doing the Tie-Dye Wednesday and Thursday. Swimmers who wish to participate must bring a white T-shirt (one per swimmer) and a plastic bag (garbage bag or 1 gallon Ziploc).
To avoid chaos, we will be separating the age groups. We will be hosting this event in the parking lot of the Simpson pool after morning practices.
- Wednesday - 8&U/11-12
- Thursday - 9-10/13-15 - Mohawk Madness
It's that time of year again! The Tsunamis are raising money for Teach for America, an organization that promotes education equality by sending teachers to underprivileged areas in the United States. To help our efforts, your male coaches have agreed to once again participate in our Mohawk Madness fundraiser. Starting Monday; swimmers, parents, and friends can donate to each of the three male coaches. Whichever coach has the most money in his jar by the Color War Pasta Party on Friday will be receiving a mohawk for the divisional meet. Any swimmers who want mohawks will be allowed, but only with parental permission. - Dining for Dollars at Foster's Grille
This Thursday, July 29th, the Tsunamis will be hosting a fundraiser at Foster's Grille in Haymarket. Bring your friends and family to Foster's from 5:00-9:00 p.m., present the Dining for Dollars Foster's Flyer, and 10% of your bill will be donated to Teach for America. - Divisionals Rockin' Color War Pasta Party
For the last pasta party of the season, age groups will face off to see who has more team spirit! Each age group will be assigned a specific color and led by two coaches. The age groups will practice a cheer all week, and face off at the pasta party on Friday from 6-7:00 p.m. Everyone make sure to be there -- your age group needs your help!

Piedmont Wins Over Dominion Valley
In classic cross-town rivalry style, the Piedmont Tsunamis came away with a victory against the Dominion Valley Sharks on Saturday, July 10th, winning by a mere 21 points!! Firecracker Relay Challenge
Congratulations to the Piedmont swimmers participating in the Prince William Swim League's 2nd Annual Firecracker Relay Challenge on Monday, July 5th. Sponsored in part by Best Buy and hosted by the Bridlewood Waves Swim Team, the event brought together the top relay teams from the Prince William Swim League while raising money for the Prince William Health System Foundation. A special thanks goes out to our coaches who were on deck in sweltering 90 degree temperatures encouraging and cheering on our swimmers throughout the event!Piedmont Tsunamis Top 3 Finishes:
