FAQs
We don't live in Piedmont. Can we still join the team?
We warmly welcome swimmers from outside of Piedmont to participate on our swim team. Non-resident swimmers are able to participate in our fall and winter/spring indoor sessions and our summer swim team. However, registration for our indoor programs will open first to residents and members of the Piedmont Golf Club and then to families outside of the community. Please check our website for dates related to upcoming registrations. There is an additional per swimmer fee for each swim session. This fee goes to the Piedmont HOA.
Do you have a developmental program for new swimmers?
The Piedmont Tsunamis offer our White Cap program to children new to swimming during our indoor sessions and our summer swim season. The program is designed for early swimmers (ages 4-7) and its purpose is to focus on teaching the various stroke techniques used in competitive swimming and the life-long skills that swimming can provide. To participate in our White Cap Program in the indoor pool, swimmers must be able to make it across one length of the pool without holding onto the side of the pool or lane lines.
During our summer program, swimmers in the Tsunamis White Caps meet for approximately six weeks, from the week after school lets out until the end of July. Practices are held Monday - Friday at the Simpson Pool, the same location as the competitive swim program. These non-competitive swimmers will not participate in the weekly swim meets, but will have an inter-squad "Mini-Meet" toward the end of the season.
