Entries
Entries are due by 8:00pm on the Thursday prior to each meet. Computer representatives should send their team's meet entries to Katie Simmons at [email protected].
Directions to Our Pool
The Piedmont Tsunami pool is located at 14030 Clatterbuck Loop, Gainesville, VA 20155.
From Interstate 66
- Take I-66 West to Exit 43B.
- Cross over Lee Hwy (Rt 29) onto Heathcote Blvd.
- At third light, turn RIGHT onto Catharpin Road.
- After ¼ mile, turn LEFT onto Clatterbuck Loop, and go through gate.
- Please do not arrive at the gate before 6:00 a.m. Piedmont Tsunamis will have a person on staff to let families through this gate starting at this time.
- Turn RIGHT at stop sign and immediate LEFT into pool parking lot.
Parking
Limited parking is available in the pool parking lot. Off street parking is allowed in the Piedmont community, with the exception of the area on Clatterbuck Loop from the gatehouse to the first stop sign. Parking in this area is prohibited. Also, please be thoughtful of Piedmont residents, and do not park directly in front of mailboxes, driveways, or right at the stop signs. Note that the area around the pool is regularly patrolled and illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed!
Warm-Ups/Start
We have an eight lane pool. Piedmont has warm ups from 6:00 – 6:20 a.m. Visitors warm up from 6:30 – 6:50 AM. Visitor Coaches can warm up with Piedmont Coaches @ 5:30AM until 5:55AM. Timers and officials briefing will be announced at 6:30 AM. Meet will begin promptly at 7:00 AM. Please instruct coaches, swimmers and volunteers to be on time, as we are required to finish our meet by 12:30 p.m. so we may open our pool to the Piedmont community. Piedmont provides a concessions stand located inside the pool area next to the pool house.
Visiting Team Area
Visiting team tents are not allowed to be setup until the morning of the meet, per our HOA. There will be space available on the grassy area adjacent to the pool deck. There will be access from the grassy area to the pool deck for swimmers and spectators. Please note that we have many residences surrounding the pool, so we ask that noise be kept to a minimum in the early hours of the meet. Please click here to see our deck map.
Coaches Tent
There is a reserved space for a single coaches’ tent on the pool deck. The space is located next to lane 8 – adjacent to the Piedmont Coaches’ tent.
Volunteer Needs
The meet will be run in two shifts: (6:45am - 9:30am and 9:30am - 12:15pm).
Please provide the following volunteers:
- Referees and Starters—One per shift.
- Stroke and Turn Judges—Four per shift.
- Clerk of Course—Three per shift.
- Timers—Twelve per shift—please provide two timers for the odd numbered lanes and one for the even numbered.
- Head Timer—One for the meet.
- Recorders—Four per shift. The recorders will work in the even-numbered lanes: 2, 4, 6 and 8.
- Scoring—Two per shift
- Ribbons—Two per shift, plus one Heat Ribbons volunteer per shift.
- Runners—Two per shift.

Heat Sheets
Our swim team does not sell Heat Sheets at the meet, except during Divisionals. We will have Heat Sheets available free of charge to print from our website by 8:00 AM on Friday mornings prior to each meet we host. We will print a limited number of Heat Sheets for Officials and Coaches.

Please Note: The Piedmont HOA and pool management company prohibit patrons and visitors to Piedmont pools from putting additives into the pool water. Such action could result in a temporary pool closure.
